Scatman C getting axed really upsets me. Doesn't he live in the book and helps them escape?

(4,461 posts)It is not fun or funny living in a place that is haunted.

(4,461 posts)She would follow me up and down stairs, sometimes I felt like she would push me down the stairs if she could,. She turned off and on lights, tvs, fans, etc. Rattled windows and doors really loud. She would hide things, important things like purses and keys. Made the baby cry, I could not leave him alone for one instant because of her.

(16,116 posts)One night at 2 or 3 a.m. a young couple came down to the desk with all their luggage, saying that there was a ghost in their room looking for French fries, and that they were leaving. They were both clearly shaken, and asked about other lodgings. I pointed out the window at The Stanley, and they about flew out of there.
I dutifully searched the room, but found no sign of the ghost. Just a few empty ketchup packets.

(16,116 posts)I reconciled the days income with the expected figures. I welcomed late arriving guests and booked them into rooms. Did my best to make the guests comfortable and happy. Made coffee at the end of my shift for those guests up and about.
As the overnight security man I walked the property several times, checking doors and looking for non-existent problems, tried to quiet loud unruly drunks, mentioned the swimming pool hours (only to the loud ones) and looked for ghosts.

(16,116 posts)It was for the most part a quiet, enjoyable job where it was expected that I would get some reading done or enjoy a movie on TV in the lobby.
