She said everything is looking good from BP to listening to my heart and lungs. My blood sugar was 258 this morning, likely a result of me feeding my feelings all night. (Yogurt, fruit and some Ritz crackers that I grazed on between short naps).
I have a call in to DR Masood and hopefully get to discuss my right arm issue further and maybe a better medication for it. I have a follow up with cardiologist NP on the 19th of March so that's covered. I've slept a little better as in 2-4 hours per night vs 1-2. I'm still exhausted most of the time, but that should be normal at this stage right?
The one thing I can't overstate is how absolutely wonderful you all have been, morning, noon, and night. I was up at O'dark thirty in agonizing pain and you were there to listen and offer comfort and suggestion.
It feels like I turned over in pain and "You" were there laying next to me as if waiting to do exactly that.
I'm so thankful that you all keep loving me in exactly the way I need at the moment I need it.
That's just another miracle that you keep performing as if you were breathing.
I love you DUERS and as usual, all I can do is blubber some tears and try to say thank you in a way that expresses how deeply touched I really am.
I guess the best way to express how I feel is to use Mother Teresa and her words to say that you've showered me with so many acts of Great Love.
"We cannot do great things on this earth, only small things with great love.

Thank you thank you thank you DU.

(30,710 posts)your chest cut open and people fiddled around with your heart! Is your pain surgery related? And what's with the right arm pain? Pain does increase Blood sugars, so just keep on with the meds and keep checking. Big hugs!

(66,962 posts)I highly suggest you request a home sleep study. It's quick & painless & if you have apnea, it disregulates sugar causing frequent overnight trios to the bathroom.
Apnea also causes or contributes to hbp, high cholesterol esp triglycerides, nonalcohol fatty liver, loss of sense of smell, & of course type 2 diabetes.

(11,575 posts)A bone infection in my sternum caused a month long stay in hospital, so much of the very early recovery was done there. I do remember being tired quite often. When I got home there was no pain but I was on a IV drip for about an hour a day administering antibiotics.
I had to learn (force myself) to walk well for longer distances. Went from hiking 3-5 miles daily to learning how to walk around the block. Took a couple months but it all came back
ya gotta keep trying. Never give up!

(318 posts)Recovery always seems to take longer than we think it should. You were down long enough it will take you awhile to get your full strength back, but it will happen. Praying the doc can do something to alleviate the pain.

(4,466 posts)I swear blood sugar has no rhyme or reason. It makes its own rules based on criteria we just dont understand yet. Sometimes I can eat no sugar low carb and exercise then my blood sugar is 200 the next morning. Or sometimes I dont do anything right and its 84.

(66,962 posts)Apnea causes type 2 diabetes, among many other serious, chronic health conditions.
Medicare pays for test, machine if needed & all supplies.
The older we get, the more likely we are to develop apnea & 87% of seniors with apnea go undiagnosed.
