I'm in agonizing pain in my right shoulder, the same kind that you would get with a really bad knot under my shoulder blade.
Any movement can trigger it and it basically renders my right arm useless as it's too painful to do anything with. I can find a set spot in my recliner and I'll be ok. In direct connection, my right arm at the elbow bend is also very very tender with weird nerve pain that I haven't experienced before. I've had X-rays and blood work done and everything looks ok.
Have you had anything like this before?
I had my roommate put on a lidocaine patch on each side and I'm going to try and be still. The Home health nurse is coming in the morning. I just want to get to that point without going crazy.
Fingers crossed and trying to still myself.
Thank you for caring.

(66,962 posts)They are "real" doctors in that they rx all meds & do surgeries, but they also get specialized training in doing manipulations.

(66,962 posts)Just guessing here. Not a doc or nurse, but had both carpal & cubital entrapment surgeries.
Guessing it's coming from spine. Mine was.
Are any fingers numb? Ulnar entrapment classic sxs are that weird pain & numbness on in ring & little fingers.
Here's some info for you:

I hope you feel better soon!

(2,051 posts)The pain goes towards my wrist and inside of my arm. I'm so careful with movement now that I'm not sure if the full parameters.
I had a friend who would get these knots and I'd use direct pressure to decalcify. I just know she'd be sweating bullets by the time I'd be done. I just want it to stop getting worse

(2,051 posts)The main source of pain is under the shoulder blade, the pain in the arm is if I stretch it out and lower it below my heart. The two pains are nothing alike, but very much related.

(2,051 posts)This qualifies as awful in my eyes lol.
Again, I'm just happy I'm not alone. You guys are so wonderful with your caring.

I wonder if it could possibly be an after effect of surgery? Maybe while you were out, they had to turn you or move you in a weird way or something? Just a thought since it was so recent.

I had a chunk of foid stuck in my esophagus due to ulceration caused by reflux I didn't realize I had & felt like I'd been run over by a truck for about 2 wks. Horrible neck & shoulder pains.
Doc said, "oh, that's normal."

But, again, I currently exist in a red shithole, so I'm guessing your care was far superior. I hope so anyway.
