Turns out crappy AI cannot actually replace government workers

Not one but two artificial intelligence tools have been rolled out at the Food and Drug Administration. And, unsurprisingly, not one but two of them appear to suck.

FDA Commissioner Martin Makary has been hyped about jamming AI into his department. Regrettably, he’s significantly less hyped about things the FDA should be hyped about, like vaccines. But since Makary is functionally an anti-vaxxer who says that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine advisory panel is a “kangaroo court” that “rubber stamps” all vaccines, perhaps it’s best if he stays fixated on AI.

The FDA announced its deployment of AI last month in a news release that reads more like a pitch deck.

“I was blown away by the success of our first AI-assisted scientific review pilot. We need to value our scientists’ time and reduce the amount of non-productive busywork that has historically consumed much of the review process,” Makary said in the release.

To be honest, most of what I've seen of AI isn't that impressive. My fear is that the intellectually lazy will use AI and this article confirms my fear.

Several of the popular AI platforms have been found to tailor their information to the type of person interacting with it. It's a Ouiji Board!

Ouiji boards only tend to affect those who play with them.

Ai is already a nightmare for everyone!

... assign more and more government work and what is considered mundane tasks to Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems,... then let AI fuck things up royally.

Then they can declare,... government workers were a flop,.... AI was a flop,... the only thing that can make things run smoothly is to privatize the whole of government works.

Subsidiaries of the super rich will then miraculously win all the privatized government service contracts.

Yeee Haaa - the oligarchs win again - as they walk away with all the money
- while we pay all the obscenely inflated bills.

but taken to absolute extremes by the GW Bush administration, is the flaming lantern in that famous Chicago barn. trump (and P2025) is only carrying out what PNAC started. All of it needs to be strangled and then drowned in a bathtub! Imagine someone being stupid enough to believe in supply side economics!

Our very wealthy and our democratic government are in a struggle to control our country.

Team Trump is a tool of the very wealthy. Their goal is to destroy our democracy and rule us as overlords.

Bad government, a government that is seen as unfair, incompetent, and punitive is the dream of the overlords.

I've been reading some old comic books in digital format lately. A Captain America plot has the villainous Nazi The Red Skull replacing American politicians with Life Model Decoys (LMDs). He programs these fake politicians to act in erratic and irrational ways in order to destroy America's faith in their government. I swear these oligarchs are modeling themselves after Bond villains and Supervillains from the comic books.

Sadly, when these comics came out, virtually everyone agreed these villains were pure evil.

These days, so many of us seem confused as to where the real evil lies. So many of us support tearing down the pillars, the institutions of our country.
