New Mexico attorney general reopens investigation into Epstein's Zorro Ranch

Following public pressure for a better accounting of crimes committed by Jeffrey Epstein and others who might be implicated, the New Mexico Department of Justice will reopen its criminal investigation into Epstein’s New Mexico ranch, a spokesperson said Thursday.
“Upon reviewing information recently released by the U.S. Department of Justice, Attorney General Raúl Torrez has ordered that the criminal investigation into allegations of illegal activity at Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch be reopened,” Lauren Rodriguez, spokesperson for the department, wrote in an email.

Zorro Ranch was one of several properties owned by Epstein — along with an island in the Caribbean and a Manhattan townhouse. Records show Epstein visited the ranch regularly and hosted others there. Some of his accusers have alleged the ranch was the site of sex trafficking.
Following Epstein’s death, questions have swirled around the federal investigation into allegations he trafficked underage girls for sex. Many have questioned whether evidence exists of crimes committed by other powerful people who were connected to Epstein and his girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving time in federal custody on a number of charges, including sex trafficking of minors.

This comes on the heels of the legislature’s Truth Commission bill which is on the governor’s desk. AG Torres has pretty broad discretion and investigatory powers. MAGA has a bone stuck in its throat.
