Tulsi Gabbard, the embattled director of national intelligence, has shuttered the task force she created to pursue Donald Trumps political vendettas.
Gabbard, 44, confirmed to Reuters on Tuesday that she has wound down the Directors Initiatives Group, a task force she launched under the banner of depoliticizing intelligence agencies.
The group, which issued reports attacking the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and the Biden administrations handling of domestic terrorism, had been accused of serving as a vehicle for Trumps political retribution campaign.
News of the DIGs scrapping comes as Gabbard faces intense scrutiny over her handling of a whistleblower complaint and her seizure of voting machine data in pursuit of Trumps 2020 election conspiracy theories.

(167,344 posts)The case went into pause when it got too close to the election and that halted any further discussion beyond the SCOTUS allowing "immunity" BUT remanding back to the lower court to determine what were "official acts" vs "unofficial acts" for the applicability of it.
With respect to suing the government - in general, the government has to "give permission" to do that. It may require Congress to pass some laws for it to happen.
