Billionaire GOP Mega-Donor Rips Trump Corruption: Been 'Very Enriching to the Families' of Admin Officials

Source: Mediaite.com

Billionaire GOP mega-donor and past Trump supporter Ken Griffin accused the Trump administration this week of corruption and warned that business leaders are concerned about getting trapped in a loop of government coercion.

“This administration has definitely made missteps in choosing decisions or courses that have been very, very enriching to the families of those in the administration,” Griffin said during a conference in West Palm Beach on Tuesday. The Citadel founder was speaking at an event hosted by The Wall Street Journal and added, “That calls into question: is the public interest being served?”

“One of the things that you want to believe is that those who serve the public interest have the public interest at heart in everything they do,” Griffin added. Griffin’s comments come amid new reporting that Trump and his sons pocketed an eyepopping $500 million investment linked to the United Arab Emirates in their crypto company just ahead of Trump’s second inauguration. The New York Times also reported last month that by its count, Trump and his family have made $1.4 billion since taking office a second time, a figure the Times called a “minimum” accounting.

Griffin donated tens of millions to the GOP in 2024, but declined to endorse Trump directly. He has since been a tough critic of the president on various issues, namely tariffs, which he warned put the U.S. “on a slippery slope to crony capitalism.” Griffin also slammed the administration’s approach to corporate America and the seemingly quid-pro-quo relationships Trump has forged with major business leaders.

Forever.

Just like Miller wants desperately to be a real nazi, Donnie wants to be Vito Corleone. He isn't. At best, he's a cheap used car salesman dressed up like a Don.

We figured it out...we saw it coming...we tried to warn people.

There was plenty of evidence out there--including from officials in the first krasnov regime and experts in everything from finance to international affairs--warning what would happen and explaining why he should never be given power again. Griffin is either dumb or willfully ignorant.

In my experience having met 2 who fall into that category. One was really smart. The other was a textbook case of failing upward. Amazing what simply being in the right place at the right time can do. Also, funny how we don't call lottery winners "titans of probability."

There's a lot more playing fields to deal with and no one is just on one; policies aren't designed to lead to a profit, but rather to level and align all the playing fields.
People in finance, especially, really have problems seeing what's going on at the peripheries - looking only at the pertinent connected components as if they believe a problem in a niche sector - like decorator origami home art, or something else that appears to be totally independent - won't end up infecting the rest of global finance somehow.

While in the case of governance, a small policy neglect risk like leaving it up to the localities to fund community mental health initiatives if they want to can become a major component of national tragedies like Sandy Hook or Uvalde.

He knew how bad it would be. He would be fine with it if he was getting his deserved ROI on his investment. The only thing Ken is stating is that he is not personally profiting off of the current regime.
