Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) said Tuesday she predicts the government will shut down in January and that lawmakers will not pass any appropriations bills to keep the government funded before the funding deadline.
I see the government shutting down, Crockett said in her livestream Crocketts Quarterly Update on Facebook. One of the reasons that I am going to be a little bit more absent than I would like to be in my district, especially in January, is because we are going to have to stay in D.C. and if the government shuts down, I wont be able to get out, she said.
Crockett, who earlier this month announced her campaign to take Sen. John Cornyns (R-Texas) seat, said she does not view the likelihood of a shutdown happening as partisan.
There is just one group of people that [couldnt] care less about doing what theyre supposed to do, which is to govern, she said on the stream in a criticism of Republicans.

(7,936 posts)The October-November shutdown was bad enough; to do it again would be deleterious to morale. Not that Trumps minions give a rats ass about Civil Service morale. I also think that with the midterms coming, Republicans dont want to get blamed.

Those endless "what did you do last week" nonsense emails, would have been enough to destroy any semblance of normalcy.
