Warner Bros. Discovery puts itself up for sale

Warner Bros. Discovery, the owner of HBO, CNN, and other cable networks, said on Tuesday that it is putting itself up for sale.

In a press release, the company announced a "review of potential alternatives," Wall Street speak for a sale. WBD said it had recently received "unsolicited interest" from "multiple parties for both the entire company and Warner Bros."

The company said that while it shops itself around, it will continue to work on the previously announced split of its cable networks from its streaming and studio business.

mega billion corporations and their owners have realized: RESISTANCE IS FUTILE, and they are dealing with a TRUE "BORG"

They are all dropping to their knees and kissing the ring........Musk, Ellison, Zuckerberg, Bezos, Gates, Tim "Apple" etc etc etc

Maybe AI?

Thinking it makes traditional entertainment creation obsolete, and most of the infrastructure is rendered worthless. Just a guess.

Link reports the company is several billion in debt too.

... so that's not surprising, plus they were already in the red. One interesting twist is that DC Comics recently announced they would neither use nor allow AI in their creative process. There's still 100+ years of the multifarious Warner film and music properties, tho.
