Embattled MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell doesn't regret any of his past statements, proclaiming during his defamation trial in Colorado that he would say it all again. The case was brought by Eric Coomer, a former employee with Dominion Voting Systems, whom Lindell has baselessly accused of election-rigging.
Dominion has been forced to sue a wide array of right-wing figures and groups who pushed conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election, for harm to their reputation. Lindell has alleged that Coomer, in particular, was part of a plot to rig the election against Trump, which was promoted and amplified on his FrankSpeech platform.
Speaking in front of the jury on Tuesday, Lindell didn't seem particularly apologetic, even as he acknowledged that his conspiracies that the 2020 election was stolen had cost him everything in his professional life, according to the exchanges covered in a lengthy X thread by election security activist Ashe Epp.
"With all youve lost, why didnt you stop talking about elections?" Lindell's attorney asked him. "Because we lose everything," said Lindell. "I will never stop. We have to get rid of the machines and go to paper ballots." He confirmed he still believes everything he has said about Coomer.

(2,341 posts)... and a liar. But then, that can describe nearly every Republican Satan ever shat out. The very few it doesn't describe have either been run out of the Party, or are about to be. One or two who have managed to retain a vestigial remnant of conscience have become Democrats, or at least Independents.
Malice, deceit, and staggering stupidity are the wobbly legs of the unstable stool that supports conservatism in general. Fuck 'em all.
Liar? I'm not so sure.
He comes across as someone who actually believes what he's saying.
I've said this before - I tend to view Lindell differently from others who pushed the stolen-election horsesh&t. I honestly think he's dealing with some organic mental issues - maybe caused by previous drug use, maybe not - and not as capable of actually controlling himself.
There are many like him - but unlike them, Lindell had lots and lots of money. That allowed him to amplify his voice way beyond what the average crackpot with a basement and wifi can.
In spite of all this, he really should be required to turn over all of his assets to Dominion. He just won't shut up.

(2,341 posts)... he truly believes what he spews is, at least in my view, immaterial. It is categorically, and proven beyond dispute to be, false, untrue, a total fabrication, and if you'l forgive the crude vernacular, total horse shit. He has been given ALL of the documentation that supports this assessment, but he refuses to accept it, so he has forfeited any claim to have proof to the contrary. He's carved out of the same turd as Trump; He's a pathological liar who will never admit it, no matter how much proof is laid in his lap. He can't admit it; if he did, he'd lose what little support he might still have from room-temperature IQs that wallow in this sort deceitful sewage.
Being a crack addict which he may well still be excuses nothing.

(3,391 posts)He should be held accountable for his actions, just like anyone else. The problem, as I see it, is that he'll be so broke by the time this is done that Dominion won't be able to recover any damages.
I just think he's cut from a different kind of crazy than Trump. Trump knows he's lying, and he doesn't care. I don't think Lindell does, and he's probably got a serious psychological block from accepting contrary evidence. I know he's seen it, but he may be incapable of absorbing it.
This is true for many conspiracy theorists. Talk to people who think the earth is flat, vaccines cause autism, the Apollo landings were faked, or that voting for Trump was a good idea. They can't wrap their heads around the falsity of their beliefs. Evidence is dismissed as lies told by their opposition.
Seriously - there's a video on Youtube showing someone taking some flat-earthers to the South Pole, where they saw with their own eyes the sun making a circle in the sky during the Austral winter. This is impossible if the earth is flat and Antarctica is some sort of land barrier surrounding the disk. But rather than convincing anyone, the video spun off a whole lot of responses showing why it had to have been faked.

You tell him to STFU and he shoots off his mouth.
You can bet two things:
1. Law firm has asked for a huge retainer with frequent replenishment, and
2. Daily, if not semi-daily memoranda to file to protect against potential legal malpractice action by its client.

(1,336 posts)At least the jerk Alex Jones admitted that he was psychotic when he defamed the Sandy Hook parents. Lindell is probably going to put his kooky beliefs on his grave stone.

(10,271 posts)But now it's conspiracies, not drugs. He didn't resolve his underlying problems when he got off drugs, so he's akin to a dry drunk and still has the same problems.

(47,188 posts)Oh that's right, he says he quit doing it.
Right...

(3,391 posts)Any decent lawyer would get their client to shut up, especially in front of reporters and especially especially in court. Lindell seems incapable of understanding how much worse he's making things.
Lots of people have martyr complexes, but this one needs a serious intervention for his own sake.

(7,441 posts)will likely never pay any money no matter the size of the judgement. He will keep any judgement tied up in bankruptcy etc., like Jones, and then play and toy and make promises on promises on promises that all will not be kept or enforced. Look at how long the courts allowed Ghooliani to screw around.

Mike, there are only six states that support DRE's, i.e. no paper ballots. Yours!
