Trump says FEMA to be wound down after hurricane season

Source: Reuters

June 10 (Reuters) - President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he planned to start "phasing out" the Federal Emergency Management Agency after the hurricane season and that states would receive less federal aid to respond to natural disasters.

Trump also said he planned to distribute disaster relief funds directly from the president's office.

"We're going to do it much differently," Trump said in a briefing at the White House in response to a question about when he planned to eliminate FEMA and what his message was to governors regarding states bearing more disaster-relief costs.

"We're going to give out less money," he said.

Yes, that would be treating us differently. Plenty of money for that big tax break being shoved down us but nothing for the relief of those caught in a weather event. Got it

the fact that he wants to be in charge of allocating funds is the detail that I think will be the worst part of this. blue states will never get a goddam dime if he has control. red states will get some trickle of money if they are willing to fully kiss his enormous ass. but if he tanks blue states economies, he will also be tanking those of the red states because they are dependent on fed funds from blue states. none of his policies are sustainable or have a chance of being productive. they will all lead to destruction. the man is completely insane.

will get if any. For the most part, it will be red states. But I can hardly wait for the Oval office spectacle of the Kissing of the ASS and the effluent praise of the Great Leader that each governor will perform on camera during the Daily Trump Show.
