New Rolling Stones song about the US: Ringing Hollow (They took away the welcome mat. Lady Liberty don't look so good.)

Especially with a wannabe king, a "scoundrel trying to whip up the crowd."

It's ringing hollow
It's ringing deep
It's ringing loud
And there's always a king
Trying to pick up the crown
But what do you think about that?
They took away the welcome mat
Lady Liberty don't look so good
When there's a tear in her gown

Video released today:

I'd posted about Mick and Ronnie doing a live performance of this a couple of days ago in London: https://www.democraticunderground.com/1034165711

It's great to have the complete song and video.

and then mostly that it was a general inconvenience for musicians.

I don’t have any other particularly strong feelings about the Stones one way or the other - but this kind of rubs my fur backwards a little even if I do happen to agree with what’s said. Which I do. Not that it matters much. They will continue to live their lives and I my own.

I don't want to wake up Princess Floof. She's belly up and right in the middle of a dream. 🐾

Thanks for sharing this, hpd. ❤️

I can't imagine he is too concerned with Kings reaching for crowns.
