The fact that trump is refusing to sign the housing bill today is a good sign

It will still become law and he won't be able to do a victory lap. But even more importantly, he is doing it because he can't get his R controlled congress to pass the SAVE ACT, He explicitly admitted that in his statement this morning.

So, let's see. Bill enacted? Check. No credit to trump? Check. No dangerous SAVE Act? Check.

Trifecta!

but it would be the ultimate in political suicide for R's to change their votes then to sustain his veto.

So, I will bet Trump's ego, ignorance, and arrogance will "win" the day and it will be allowed to take effect.

Unless the 10 day mechanism is complete and it's law without his signature. Then, he has no say.

Which means, it wouldn't count as a recess. So the pocket veto wouldn't be available to Trump.

He’s a smooth-talking slickly-boy. From WAY back. Or at least that’s the opinion I’ve developed, observing him over the years. I’m no certified expert. It’s just what my eyes and ears tell me.

That it will automatically become law? What is the point of not signing it unless he's trying to make his cult believe that he is doing something to get the Save Act passed.

But I have one speculation - If he signs it, he's admitting there's an affordability crisis.

Okay, one more speculation - He doesn't stand to profit off the bill.

He is unable to admit that his presidency is anything but perfect in any way. reality be damned. So he will not sign a bill that helps with housing because everything is already
perfect. Yes, I think he's that deluded.

of the hoopla. Though I don't think a ceremony would improve their chances in November, I'm sure it would have been a brief endorphin rush for their morale which is being robbed by their cult leader. The bill itself won't even help them. It's too little too late. No one will feel it's impact in the immediate future (if ever).

Shameful joy on my part? No, just joy.
