CNN host Kasie Hunt pressed Jennings to call the 84-year-old Kentucky senator on air after he claimed he’d spoken to McConnell on the phone earlier that day

As Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell nears the one-month mark of his hospitalization for an undisclosed condition, his staff claimed that he had phone calls with three people on Tuesday, July 7: Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Senate GOP Whip John Barrasso and CNN commentator Scott Jennings.

On Tuesday night, Jennings was pressed to call McConnell again live on air during an appearance on CNN’s The Arena.

“Do you think he’d be willing to call into the show? Could we get him on the phone now?” asked host Kasie Hunt.

Jennings laughed at the question, but did not answer directly ...
