An unknown no-hoper goes against the world champion and matches them nearly punch for punch. They may not have won in the end but no one can say they beat them in 90 minutes.

Cabo Verde refused to quit; they were close to equalizing a third time. Awesome game!

We were helping at a fireworks event at our church (which has a great view of the city's fireworks). I was doling out popcorn to gobs of people and my phone started pinging. Messages from my son, my sister, etc. "I can't believe what I'm seeing!"

I opened my phone at the 91st minute and laughed out loud. Gotta love Cape Verde - such an underdog.

This has been a great WC so far.

Primarily because melee (I know I spelled it wrong - I did it on purpose) doesn’t deserve the platform.

The refs siding with Argentina multiple times. They played incredibly well even with the deck stacked against them.

I watched it down at the taqueria. Argentinians and Messi-haters alike. One hell of an overtime. Damn, that was exciting!
