Every time I log into one of my financial accounts, they throw this "Go Paperless" Sh*t at me. I've said "NO" a thousand times, I MEANT "NO," and the answer is STILL "NO!" "Going Paperless" means I save THEIR paper--not mine! There is no such thing as "paperless" in my world. If I want or need a hard copy (which I almost always do, for one reason or another), I would have to print it on MY own paper. Then it becomes my expense, and their profit. No, thank you. They're the ones making the big dineros, not me--and they can write it all off as a business expense; I can't. I've said "NO" a thousand times, I MEANT "NO," and the answer is eternally"NO!" Sure, I could download the stuff and store it electronically (which might be more efficient, but less helpful if someone else needs ready access to my records), but again, it's my expense. I'll take the paper, thankyouverymuch.

I've gone paperless and I save my statements to a computer as well as a backup hard drive. I can print whatever I need when I need it or I'll print quarterly statements and file them knowing if something is suspicious or wrong I have a stating point.

(28,679 posts)better their expense than mine. If I and a hundred thousand other customers "go paperless," will they then pass the savings on to their customers? No, they'll pass profits on to their shareholders, one of which I am not. If going paperless works fine for you, you have my blessing. It doesn't work for me. I keep meticulous records, largely for the benefit of someone down the line of succession in the event I buy the big ticket, but partly to be able to tell the IRS to go and fornicate a porcupine.
