Far-Left Podcaster Claims ‘Many’ Liberals Would Vote for Tucker Carlson Over AOC
Sean James

Liberal commentator Briahna Joy Gray said she knows “many” fellow liberals who would rather vote for Tucker Carlson to be president than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Gray shared that detail during the latest episode of her Bad Faith podcast on Thursday. She said that realization put her between a rock and a hard place because she would not recommend Democrats vote for either one of them.

“It’s crazy, I know many people on the left who would happily vote for Tucker Carlson before AOC,” Gray said. “I am frustrated by that dynamic because I don’t want Tucker Carlson to be president. I also can’t see myself damaging my own credibility by telling someone to vote for AOC. These options hurt us all.”

Gray expanded on her take, saying Carlson has said a lot of “bad stuff” in the past — and referred to his comments on which immigrants assimilate best in the U.S. — but said he could be “quite appealing” to voters following his recent “rebirth.”

For the record, I know of no real liberal who would ever vote for Carlson for anything. Also, I'm posting this for informational purposes only. I don't in anyway agree with or support Ms. Gray's position. But she is an influential voice and we should be aware of what is being said beyond this site. Thank you.

I hate purity tests and such tests have rarely, if ever, served us well. Voters need to grow up and realize they aren't voting for contestants on American Idol. Elections have very real consequences that can affect us for decades. They aren't (or shouldn't be) popularity contests.

Mon May 18, 2026, 01:40 PM

Until the democratic leadership steps up and demands that Bibi and other tops parts of the Israeli government and military are sent to the Hague for war crimes -- we will have problems getting out the vote with a substantial chunk of Gen Z.

They view both parties as guilty of this -- especially Dems in congressional leadership like Shumer and Jefferies.

I don't agree but have heard it from both sons 19/25 and a bunch of their friends who are generally liberal and support -- universal health care, student loan reform, etc.

But the war crimes of the Israeli givernment may be an albatross around the neck of the party.

Ideally, the war criminals on all fronts -- Israeli military, palestinian terrorists, Russians, Americans -- face justice. It really is a HUGE issue for Gen Z

The problem with Kamala was she was a woman of color and there are a whole lot of voters who just won't vote for a woman, no matter how qualified she is. Sadly, the U.S. has a "woman" problem. I really thought I would see a woman president in my lifetime. Guess not in this country or this lifetime.

This can’t be real. If people believe Tucker Carlson’s rebirth is actually authentic, then, they will believe anything. Literally anything.

This is the same type of thinking as people who believe Trump is “blue collar at heart and is fighting the deep state!” They have the IQ of a smooth rock.

Trump to Kamala Harris

I can find
92.6k Instagram
181k YouTube (the "Bad Faith" podcast)
5k substack

but she seems to have avoided a personal presence on TikTok, and if she's on Facebook, it doesn't seem to come up as much as when she appears on someone else's pages.

She doesn't get into mainstream news much - aside from this story, freebeacon.com (RW nutters) mentioned her in a story about "Mamdani's Communist Housing Czar" (said "Czar" appeared on "Bad Faith" in 2021), and that's it for this year in Google News.

DU doesn't seem to talk about her at all, these days. The site DuckDuckGo search turns up just this thread, and one from 2023 that was just kicked and now shows dozens of self-deletions by one DUer (god knows what they said - we can't see "Briahna" in it now anyway). Google finds this one mention of her (she's mentioned in passing) and that's it: https://www.democraticunderground.com/132172584

Who does she influence, these days?

I don't think potential Democratic voters are spending much time on x.com now. She gets 50k views of her more popular own posts there (under 20k for the everyday ones); on this topic, she managed a bit over 100k, but then it does seem like it's a blatant attempt for visibility. I think the 500k may include people who followed her there years ago, but it's Musk's hellsite now, so they've left, and loads of bots (also because it's Musk's hellsite).

As far as Twitter I don't trust the motives of whatever narratives are going on there.

Not according to polls on real people. AOC recently led a primary poll from an accurate pollster so it shows whatever narratives are going on online it hasn't really made much of a dent in real life.

that she and others in her realm are liberals/democrats/etc. They have a separate ideology that overlaps with us in a few areas. Anyone that would vote for tucker, trump, rfk OR vote in a way that enables trump, tucker, or another rightwing / confused clown, is NOT, and I repeat NOT a serious or reliable ally.

Thanks for keeping us posted but that is some really disturbing news, if true. After everything we've seen, this is their plan? To shoot the entire country in the foot again?

That said, I do not think AOC should be our nominee. How many times are we going to do the same thing and expect a different result? I'm not simply referring to how misogynist Americans are - I don't think AOC is ready or qualified yet. That's just my opinion. She's matured a lot during her time in office but there's more growing to do.

The AOC hate from those that claim they're on the left mostly only exist on Twitter and started since Democrats won all 3 branches in 2020. Glenn Greenwald is another that exists in that space with Gray. As far as primary polls she is usually in the top 3 so it isn't widespread. She has done rallies and events all over the country the last 2 years and there hasn't been any hate at those events.

Here are a couple videos that better explain the hate on places like Twitter

I consider myself part of the left and I would vote for AOC if she if were in a primary like I voted for Bernie Sanders in the 2016 & 2020 primary.
