There has been reams written about the Tesla monstrosity, but one thing stuck with me:

Someone said it looks like something Elon Musk drew when he was a 5 year old that he though looked really cool, and in spite of protestations to the contrary from his design staff at Tesla Motors, as soon as he could afford to do it, he made them build the damned thing anyway.

That is one UGLY motor vehicle.

What happens when we mix green & orange? We get brown.

Unless the reporting party, person with authority to approve the tow, and tow truck were on-site when they Cyber truck parked. Otherwise, it wouldn't be possible. Or, perhaps they were all poised and ready to go because of they are a repeat offender?

Obviously, driving a cyber truck is projecting yourself as wealthy and entitled. The fine should be pocket change....right? What you whining about? Not the least concerned about potentially causing someone handicapped to be harmed.

How much you want to bet he'll continue to park in handicap spots when just needing a quick stop.

Stores use spotters to look for people who park in posted lots and then leave, or who park in handicapped spots without a permit. They’ll yank your car in as little as 90 seconds, so this asshat got an extra few minutes.

And oh by the way, what about the people who genuinely needed that spot during that time? Never crossed your mind, did it? Maybe next time, loser.

there’s a walgreens near me that is surrounded by other retail. street parking is minimal, and a pita to park on a narrow, busy street. it’s also all pay to park w kiosks. takes a few min just walk back and forth and to get through the process.
park in that lot, and you’ll b waving bye bye to your car in less than 5 min.
pretty sure they catch more parkers than shoplifters.

I’m going to assume that it takes longer than ten minutes to back the tow truck into position and load up the car, assuming the truck was on site and waiting for a victim when the car pulled into the spot.

Ten minutes my azz.

We do not know the precise stage of the wenching action when the driver comes out of the store. I assume the vehicle was already loaded on the flatbed.

It is a relatively slow process to get a parked vehicle wenched up onto a flatbed. The parked vehicle's tires do not move, they must be dragged on the pavement and up the incline.

I agree with you. The action probably took longer than ten minutes.

I hope this story is verified. Sometimes, hoaxes are staged by web pranksters just to get the clicks.

Laying in wait for a victim doesn't seem likely, and it's hard to imagine someone calling to report the parking violation and the tow truck arriving, much less getting the car half loaded, in 10 minutes. Dude is full of it (and full of himself).

Unless this was at a large community shopping complex with several anchor stores and the tow truck driver sat himself (or herself) in a back lot just waiting for tow calls, absolutely there's no way Mr. Swastitruck Driver could be taking that picture only 10 minutes after pulling up and running into the drug store.
I have never seen a vehicle that hooked and ready to tow within 30 minutes of a call to come tow - and that was after my car was rear-ended in the #2 lane and we were backing up traffic on the freeway.
The CHP officer was directly behind the truck that nearly totaled us, and called the tow truck as soon as she saw us get crunched and pushed into the other lane, and it still took the roving Caltrans tow truck 10 minutes to get there.
Now that I have an EV, I still have to fiddle with some interlocks to be able to release the electronic brake to put the EV in true neutral just to get it through a car wash or on a tow truck. I'm sure the TeslaToy Truck has the same problem (other than the inability to go through a car wash without screwing up the electronics)

Typical Bro BS.

Fortunately, they don't seem to have caught on around here. They are absolutely hideous.

I have zero sympathy for that guy. He got what any non disabled person who parks in a handicapped space deserves. And he didn't sound the least bit apologetic about parking there, which leads me to suspect this isn't the first time he's done it.

Dude has both bad taste in motor vehicles and very bad manners!

Thu May 14, 2026, 06:05 AM

Wife and I both have "mobility issues" -- in our 80's, we are "crippled" with age.

She no longer drives, it's a struggle -- a real, literal, actual, physical struggle -- for her to get from a seated position in our apartment, into a wheelchair or standing and walking with her walker. Then it's down the hallway, down the elevator, through the vestibules, and a struggle to get into our car. Which is why she rarely leaves the apartment.

I walk fine -- very short distances -- so i and my cane and collapsible cart make frequent rips to grocery, laundry, library, used book store.

We both are quiet, unassuming, forgiving people. But we draw the line at assholes like you -- what to you is a quick, run in, run out errand, is a major expedition for us. Curbs, cracks in the pavement, entitled inconsiderates who use the handicapped parking spaces -- all get no sympathy from us. And, yes, we have called the cops on people parked in handicapped spaces -- and we have delighted to see you towed.

I will say, however, that your kind is rare. People of all ages, genders, appearances, and color open doors for us, help carry out groceries. Your kind are very few. And it has nothing to do with your cybertruck.

I have been helped many times by Harley bikers. They are very community focused people and I believe that very well might have something to do with it. I too am disabled and have a power wheelchair. One day I was cruising up the street on the side of the road and my chair errored out and suddenly shut down sending my flaying into the street. I am unable to get up with my legs. Suddenly a big burley biker guy sees me, stops, asks if I'm ok, I explain I'm unable to use my legs to get up, and he helps me.

I've had quite a few instances where Harley bikers have helped me. Around these parts they are always doing big bike runs and shows that benefit charities often times focusing on kids.

Mad respect for them =)

There are variations of this story with different car pics floating around the internet. But the story is the same play by play. Under ten minutes, $250 fee, prescription, was it so necessary, etc. etc. (for example: https://www.facebook.com/groups/539020435081553/posts/1297759285874327/)

Just meant for engagement.

Speaking of. I have one of these in my neighborhood. Yesterday, a neighbor and I were looking at it and discussing whether or not we could pull off the panels with our bare hands.

Felt like a 50/50 prospect.

The humor comes in with the quote from the owner of the motor beast who says something to the effect, "I get that handicap parking spaces are needed for the disabled, and all that. But STILL."

It strikes me as type of satire presented on late-night comedy shows, or in the over-the-top lampoon segments from Brent Terhune. It brought forth a chuckle from me.

But this is so obviously several bridges too far. No one's posting this on Reddit of all places and thinking they're about to get some sympathy.

Part of the humor in the posting of this stuff is watching how many people will take it at face value and engage with it. There's an entire Facebook world I stumble upon now and then where thousands and thousands of people are just reacting to things like this all day. It's like some kind of Bosch painting done up in comment pixels.

I had to go to cleaners, grocery, and gas station., Wife and I are handicapped by old age, spinal issues, neuropathy, and the general vicissitudes of old age. Movement for her is a struggle, I get around okay. Handicapped spaces are a godsend for us.

So I pulled into the grocery parking lot -- all handicapped spaces were taken, one by a car without a handicapped permit occupied by a couple of guys who were standing around leaning against the car, smoking and bullshitting.

In the space next to their car was a full-dress Harley and approaching the scene was the Harley owner, coming out of the auto parts store -- BIG guy -- big all over, complete with the stereotyped Harley regalia and tats. I was struggling to get out of my car.

Harley Guy sized up the situation, shouted at me "You -- old guy -- sit down. I'll take care of this." He set down his package, walked over to the two guys in the handicapped space and unloaded -- verbally -- on them, gave them a lesson on how you don't park in handicapped spaces, all the while calling the cops on them. They gave him a little lip, which was the wrong thing for them to do. He had called reinforcements, two of whom showed up on their bikes.

The short version is (1) cops arrive, (2) called tow truck, (3) the two guys parked illegally in the handicapped space had warrants outstanding, (4) they got a free ride in a police car to county jail, and (5) the two friends of the Harley guy took my grocery list did my shopping for me.

Justice comes from the strangest places.

Takes longer than ten minutes to get a vehicle up on a flatbed and tied down.

They don’t normally use them to snatch cars out of parking spaces. They have much more specialized and mobile vehicles that operate in tight spaces to do that.
After they snatch them and relocate locally they go up on the flatbed to the yard.

That said, he deserves it if he parks in a handicap spot.
