Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsThe fact that Tiger Woods thought he could call Trump to stop his arrest for his
accident, tells you just how off the rails we are when it comes to the integrity of our justice system.
For that private club of privileged people to think they're one phone call away from suffering consequences that everyone else has to face is everything that is wrong with this country.
Frankly, Tiger Woods should take it personally that Trump didn't step in to help him.

(22,640 posts)Tiger, with his phone to his ear, tells the officer he's on the phone with the President. Whether he was really talking with Trump can be debated, but it's certainly what he claimed at the time.

(22,624 posts)Any poc who thinks Donald Trump can be counted on to help them out of a jam needs to have their head examined.
It blows my mind that so many black and brown people have voted for Trump and talk about it like they are totally oblivious to the fact that he is a blatant racist who regards people like them as subhuman. I find that baffling.

(43,204 posts)to think trump would do you any good under any circumstances, let alone one that involves a second rollover? What would or could he do? Get on the phone and scold the cop?
Or did he think just mentioning he was on the phone with "the president" would scare off or intimidate the cops?
I would love it if the woman police officer had responded, "That's nice" and continued writing the ticket.

Here are a couple paragraphs of interest from one of the stories at the link.
The following is how he ended the call with trump:

At one point, Woods walked down a nearby lane and was called back to the scene. He could be heard saying Thank you so much. All right. You got it. Bye, and later tells the officer, I was just talking with the president.

Trump and Woods have a long history, having played golf together for many years. Trump awarded Woods the Congressional Medal of Freedom in 2019. Woods is now dating Vanessa Trump, the ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr.

(26,740 posts)You know, Tiger has that chronic pain. Let's have some sympathy for him despite his repeatedly unacceptable behavior:
I have talked with Woods, Trump said in a Tuesday phone interview. I think hes doing great, hes doing good.
He tested negative for alcohol, as you know, and he is under a tremendous physical pressure from his various ailments, you know, the back and the leg, Trump said.
He lives a life of pain. He has a lot of pain. Hes an amazing guy. Hes an amazing athlete. He does have pain.
The president added: He doesnt have an alcohol problem, but he does have pain.
