Like, hold TSA agents and flights across the country captive in order to force the Senate to capitulate on voting rights limitation bills.
When the justice system is no longer under his control, the epstein evidence of his involvement in human trafficking and child assaults will be revealed and he'll be prosecuted and imprisoned.

(640 posts)The DOJ is stacked with loyalists. The SCOTUS is in rhe bag. Most of the judges and LEO's are MAGA. They will still be in place for years.
Firing and replacing everyone in the FBI, Secret Service, CIA, will take years.

(66,243 posts)He'll either "pardon" himself or resign and get Vance to pardon him. For any state crimes, we'll be told that America needs to "move on" and "heal" and "forgive and forget" because that's what we do when rich and powerful (mostly) men do wrong. That, and most other rich and powerful folks don't have the appetite to punish like folks. All that money and influence, and not a spine between them.
Remember when we talked about Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove...so many fucking wastes of air, all getting tried for war crimes? LOL, yeah, good stuff. How early 2000's of us, such good times.
At least 2 tiers of justice, people. Don't you ever forget it.

(1,752 posts)New York's statute of limitations is past and Florida's is as well since the recent change to end the statute of limitations isn't retroactive.
Then there's the difficulty in trying to turn anonymous tips and tips deemed not credible by the FBI into a prosecutable case. If there's something concrete we haven't seen or there's a way to get past the tips so far having issues, that's one thing, but if it's stuck in the proverbial he said/she said, there's a reason so few rape cases are successfully prosecuted.
This isn't to say I don't think he's committed rape, as he's been found liable of sexual assault or abuse, but I think putting together a prosecutable case from what we've seen that would be within the statute of limitations would be hard.

(23,105 posts)They got Trumps buy in on a ICE-free DHS funding bill, with a promise to pass ICE funding, combined with portions of the SAVE act bill, via reconciliation without Dem votes.
Except Thune knows the parliamentarian will exclude the SAVE elements from the bill as being ineligible for passage via reconciliation.
If they get Trumps signature on the DHS bill before presenting the ICE/SAVE bill to the parliamentarian, it will be intra-party ratfuckery perfection
