I still remember a lot of my growing up years in black and white unless I concentrate. Then I can see the heavy maroon drapes and the Turkish carpet in one grandparent's house and the gorgeous Queen Anne secretary adjacent to a couple of dusty rose wing chairs at the other. I can remember the colors, but put it into motion, it's black and white. It's funny how the brain works sometimes.

... meeting my stepsister's boyfriend – this is, like,50+ years ago – who was college-educated, maintaining that the Earth was flat, AND that the Sun didn't always rise in the East. He was a born-and-bred city boy, so that may account for some of his distorted views of reality. Apparently, she had heard these declarations for the first time, and he was shown to door in short order.
He was very upset that everyone in the room was laughing so hard that they nearly peed themselves.
