The more I see, hear and read about Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, the more I recognize a future U.S. President...

Well before he dropped the F Bomb heard round the world in his pointed remarks regarding ICE activities in his city, 44 year old Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey was already a Democratic star on the rise.

The background is awesome. It drips of authenticity, hard work and smarts. Just a few of the highlights from Frey's life and career:

* Born in Virginia to a Jewish family.

* Both his parents were professional modern ballet dancers.

* Ran track while getting his undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary.

* Competed at the 2002 NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships, where he won the 5,000 meter event.

* Graduated cum laude from the Villanova University School of Law.

* Practiced employment discrimination and civil rights law.

* Founded and organized the first Big Gay Race, a 5K charity race to raise money for Minnesotans United for All Families, a political group organizing for marriage equality.

* Became the second youngest Mayor of Minneapolis in 2017 after serving first on the City Council.

* Has issued eight executive orders as Mayor of Minneapolis, the first one establishing the city as a safe haven for reproductive rights and healthcare after Roe v. Wade was overturned.

If anyone's got an issue with Frey solely because he's Jewish, that's their problem. I see the makings of a future U.S. President.

The same feeling I had the first time I saw Obama speak at Kerry's Dem convention.

But this guy is young and has time to mature.

He has good looks, courage, authenticity, and is rising to the occasion to provide
real leadership.

I think I was feeling his potential based on early promising signs.
