(7,320 posts)There's a strong anti-Vivek movement across the state. The MAGA message that we hear a lot about him is he was a token and, just like any other token, ya use it and then throw it away.
But...
The alternative for these guys is to vote for a woman and, no matter that she f'ing saved the state during covid, that's a greater sin than being "brown".
What you're seeing, IMHO, is the MAGA crowd falling in line.
Separately - I really like Amy Acton and I would say that among the last 3-4 Dem candidates for governor going all the way back to geriatric Lee Fischer...she's got the best change to turn the state house blue. Her running mate - David Pepper - is arguably the most strategic Dem in the state and he's a fighter. I like their chances.

(93,237 posts)I think if the democrat was a white male Christian he would be losing.
But the Democrat is a Jewish woman so he might have some chance of winning.
I think a bunch of right wingers will vote third party or not vote at all. We need to focus on getting as many votes as we can out becsuse democrsts there have a better chance of winning now than in some years.

(53,323 posts)which was a terrific Democratic year nationwide. We haven't won any statewide races in Ohio since 2006 except for Obama's two victories in 2008 and 2012, and Brown's victories in 2012 and 2018. Trump won by 8 in 2016, 8 in 2020, and 11 in 2024. Frankly him being down by 1 is a horrible showing for him. I would think virtually any other GOP candidate would be up by at least decent single digits.

(8,891 posts)backward dumb asses. No offence to Democrats and sane folks in Ohio. We have plenty of the same in Illinois.
