US oil executives trooped to the White House Friday for a meeting with President Donald Trump and key cabinet members. Trump wants the company to rebuild Venezuela's shattered oil industry. The CEOs were not enthusiastic. Energy economist Ed Hirs explains why.

Summary: It's complcated but safety is a big reason and they hype and data are just not adding up.
