lime green.
Wholly crap is it LOUD!!!!
I hope I won't have to use it, but glad to be prepared just in case.
I live in an interracial neighborhood, which I love. I just want everyone to be safe.
I also learned, that if we need to record video using our phones it is best to turn it on its side, not vertical.

(6,170 posts)Or maybe they can be purchased new. Anyhow, one in each neighbourhood with some kind of trigger mechanism could be very effective.

(8,100 posts)I think that is why the whistle works so well.
Good idea though.

(6,170 posts)Instead of an air raid siren, it's an ICE raid siren. And it has just the right type of sound. And not too expensive (there are handheld devices for less $, not as loud but they would be portable). A kind of neighbourhood watch on steroids...
And what about alerts over social media - is there an app for that?

(6,203 posts)If ICE sees it in someone's hands they might decide to arrest them or just shoot them.

The link works at this website, plus there are videos about it in the news.

(165,894 posts)But for more benign reasons -
Errrbody had one - the metal "sports" one that we would get at the sports stores.
It was also the one mechanism for alerting bystanders if approached and attacked (before the little mace/pepperspray canisters became more common and when the "Saturday Night Special" in the pocketbook was always rumored but very rare), and WAAAAAYYYY before cell phones (although portable "car phones" were starting to be a "thing" ).
