1. The definition of a justifiable shooting seems to be shifting
Fri Jan 9, 2026, 03:23 PM

Previously, it was okay to shoot if your life was in danger.

Now, it's okay to shoot if your target is a "paid activist" and/or a fucking b*tch.

This is the line of thinking now being pushed by MAGA/the Trump administration.

“She was a protester - what did she expect?”

Not the be shot in the face? These people don’t understand that everyone has the right to protest, and, killing people just because they’re protesting is what dictatorships do.

3. What does this mean?

What does it mean when CNN puts on someone shilling innuendo of which the only purpose is to slander a victim?
It means that CNN is continuing to fail as an unbiased source of news and is peddling propaganda.

But, I think it really does do a disservice to Renee's memory not to understand who she fully was as a person.

Articles mention that the Good’s befriended a group of parents through their son’s charter school which has a focus on social justice and activism. Mention of something that the parents at the school were organizing amongst themselves to learn about how to approach ICE agents and look out for neighbors and things of the sort.

None of this is unusual or amounts to “secret paid trained terrorists.” It’s likely a group of parents with similar political views and interests meeting up for coffee and discussing political issues, current events. Creating group chats on Signal, WhatsApp, etc. Completely common.

People of all walks of life do this across the political spectrum. Neighborhood watch groups, etc.

I also gather that the school connection is how the two women from the GoFundme are connected to the family.

18. At our school we had a similar community group during the Covid years -
Fri Jan 9, 2026, 05:07 PM
Friday

we just ran a facebook group for parents/teachers and tried to share science, best practices, a way to have communication on a difficult subject (we're in TX, there was a lot of emotion around the issue). Did our best to keep folks safe and it was all unpaid parents and even some involvement from community leaders because we grew rapidly. The last time I looked the group had expanded to other issues and remained a communication vehicle well after everyone returned to school.

11. Evidently trump and company are reusing the attacks that they have made on Soros

The president called for a progressive donor to be charged with racketeering, following the tyrants’ playbook about how to deal with political opposition.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trump-george-soros-racketeering-allegations-rcna227733

Donald Trump has spent nearly a decade peddling absurd claims about “paid protesters” — as if anyone who disagrees with him must necessarily be corrupt and inauthentic — and the president kept that push going in an awkwardly worded online statement last week.....

A week later, the president seemed to go into a bit more detail this week. NBC News reported:

Trump said on Truth Social this morning that billionaire philanthropist George Soros and his son Alex Soros should be charged with racketeering. ‘George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,’ Trump wrote. ... It’s unclear what protests Trump, who has repeatedly attacked the Soros family, was referring to or what prompted his post.

In the same online missive, Trump also wrote, in a message directed at a “friend” of Soros, “Be careful, we’re watching you!”....

I’m reminded of an important observation The New York Times made in March: “Mr. Trump and his allies are aggressively attacking the players and machinery that power the left, taking a series of highly partisan official actions that, if successful, will threaten to hobble Democrats’ ability to compete in elections for years to come.”

The evidence to bolster the point isn’t hard to find. After all, in recent months, the Trump administration has targeted leading Democratic officials the president doesn’t like; it’s also opened an investigation into Media Matters, which came on the heels of Trump directing the Justice Department to investigate ActBlue, the Democratic Party’s most important fundraising platform, all while targeting prominent Democratic supporters.

Now, abandoning subtlety about his authoritarian vision, Trump is calling for a leading progressive donor to be charged with racketeering, based on nothing whatsoever, sticking to the tyrants’ playbook about how to deal with political opposition.

Soros has NOT funded anyone including this victim

This is George Floyd all over again.
This is Charlie Kirk all over again.

The character or the history of the murder victim doesn’t matter. Not one bit.

Some people are glad she’s dead. Some ain’t.

Doesn’t matter. They murdered her. That’s what matters.

by sending a query to Go Fund Me or alerting on the fundraiser. I find it hard to believe that the average user on DU could answer the questions you pose. We would just be speculating, and there's certainly enough of that going on already.
