(26,056 posts)the sun will come one day, and everything that tRUMP stood for will fall down/collapse. I can't wait for that day. Millions of us. But we will. We'll be patient, calm, and then when the time comes, everything the moron-in-chief will be dismantled one step at a time. The new president at that time should appoint an entire dept. dedicated to wiping out every trace of djt, every bit of it.
Safe journey on your healing and follow your doctor's advice. I heard that stents are good, so you might be in better shape than you have been in for a while. Don't overdo yourself.

(4,137 posts)I had my MI at age 37, got three stents (no muscle damage!), then at 48 had a planned five-way CABG, now at 57 still ticking along.
DM me if you have any questions about my experiences or just to talk through yours. It's hard to believe that it's been 20 years.
Take it easy. Try to relax. Stop reading the news for a while, maybe.

Hope you are financially able to relax for a while, without worrying about finding new employment.
Hope your relative is coping. A horrific thing to witness!

(178,635 posts)It's good to see you. How is your young relative who witnessed the shooting doing? I hope that counseling is being made available following this traumatic experience.
Power to the younger generation!

(33,125 posts)She was back taking dance class before the holidays.
She did have some side effects from the first blood thinner they put her on; don't hesitate to talk to your cardiologist along the way of your rehab.
Wishing you a steady, peaceful recovery. The world's crap will still be there, whether you watch it or not. Do yourself a favor and at least balance it out with some laughs.

(77 posts)Good grief sums it up. A heart attack is serious and to lose your job on top of it that really is just too much. Sorry your relative had to witness the real beginning of the end of our country. Your shocked relative needs to get some therapy for seeing that awful murder. Lately been asking God why all the bad shit is happening to good people and not the other way around. Will pray for you and your family. God Bless

(114,396 posts)Just don't overdo--or underdo. Follow the guidelines. While the stent restored blood supply to your heart, your heart still has to do some healing.
If you're on the standard cardiac diet now, I do sympathize. I'm on the same one, only it's a renal diet instead of cardiac. Everything tastes like wet cardboard without fat and salt. Pro tip: stock up on lemons and a container of peppercorns with built in grinder from the supermarket. A few drops of lemon juice and freshly ground pepper will do wonders for the veggies you've got to eat.
As for the rest of your post, a little philosophy from Hank Williams might help:

(14,273 posts)Stop watching Trump and ICE and all that crap. I recommend only things that make you laugh and smile and make your heart heal quickly. Or go to the pound and get a dog that needs a home. You will be so loved, you wont have time to worry about all the bs going on in the world.
Anyway, we are here for you, but maybe give politics a stress break till you are completely healed.

(10,204 posts)Wow... that may be the first time I have seen it put that way.
And, it so eloquently shows me just how far gone I am, as I can no longer find any objects or actions that can do that for me. At all.
Wow. I have lost so much. I knew that I had, but that sentence really clarifies it for me.

(14,273 posts)She watched the coverage over and over and cried non-stop. She was never the same and died within a short time after. Im never really sure if it had caused a stroke or some type of a mental breakdown. I wish dad had thrown the television out the window and taken her away to get her mind off of the tragic events of that incident.
Since you know how far gone you are from your normal self and admit that you cant seem to get out of that, please know that there is help and healing. Please talk to your doctor or spiritual advisor or someone who can assist you in finding help. Your struggle makes me so sad and I wish you all the best.

(10,204 posts)It is not current events that destroyed my life. They are just 'icing on the cake', so to speak.
There is no help (in the US) for those who cannot afford it. That is by design. And, after years of trying, I can say that the design is working just fine.
I am sorry about what happened to your mother. I am betting she was a very empathic person.
Something that is almost unheard of these days.
