Even if we remove him,

won't Vance just do what Miller and the others say?? I am feeling hopeless.

behind him. All the way down to local politician supporters, police, judges, election boards, school boards, ambassadors, and others. The damage is deeply rooted and strongly entrenched. But let's start with the orange asshole!

Only went into slight remission post-Civil War.

Remember how they used to say, “The South shall rise again?” They have. And their cancer metastasized throughout all corners of the US society.

First thing I’d do if I was Vance is hire my own staff.

Trump's entire cabinet - unqualified, stupid, unprofessional. Right now their "powers" are bestowed or withdrawn by sucking up to Trump the narcissist.

Without him it will be like kindergarten with no teacher. Bring it!

They're overreaching on all fronts. Sooner or later, there will be blowback. As the Bard said, "These violent delights have violent ends."

So, no...there would be fracturing of voters and because of that the current party leadership. He manages to keep them all in line.

JD is a huge opportunist and is somewhat competent. With other semi-competent opportunists like Rubio, Hegseth, Lutnick, etc.at his side and with virtually no legal guardrails, the amount of damage they could do is immense.

I hate this timeline.

10. If Trump were to be removed

It would require a number of Republicans in the Senate to do so(nobody thinks Democrats can take 67 seats). So, if they finally agree, it would seem that they would be done with him. While Vance may still be there, I think we'd see a bunch of "Trump who?" start from Republicans and they would move on pretending they never supported the unsupportable.

11. Yes but don't feel hopeless..and there are other scenarios
Thu Jan 8, 2026, 11:16 AM

1. We could have a Gerald Ford substitution first. Unlikely but we are living through unlikely.
2. Dems are 3 votes away from majority in house — after the midterms, a Vance scandal of some sort followed by Trump impeachment, resignation (‘for health’), or death could change the whole picture. Also unlikely but these are extraordinary times. Massive anti-trust actions or threats of investigation are two tools a Democratic congress could use to drive change or reign in abuses.

The country needs to rebuild a common worldview not crafted by a sociopathic oligarchy.

It's exhausting & they know it & count on it. But when Trump croaks, & let's hope it's today, the maga movement will stall, maybe not out, but it will stall. They will not quickly or easily coalesce around another single person. They've shown the various factions can't get along.

Check out Indivisible to find local fellow resisters! Knowing you're not alone in real life & not just virtually, will really help! I put out a different yard sign every day & was about to give up last March & then one day I found a note stuck in my door that said, "Thank you for putting out your signs every day. I'm so glad I'm not alone." Since then, I've gotten three more notes, one in the mail with $20 in it, & often, when people see me out in the yard they honk & give me a
