She had security with her, but she was mingling in the general crowd and I looked up to see her nearby.

Terrorized the Repuq men in Texas in the 1990's.

The movie "Raise Hell: The Life and Times of Molly Ivins" was a documentary about Molly and her very close relationship with Ann Richards. It is well worth watching.

I still can't believe the direction Texas has taken in the last 2 decades. As far as I'm concerned, the next Democratic president should let Mexico have them, IF Mexico would take them.

You’re willing to destroy the United States of America because republicans have ruined my state.

And

Molly Ivins and Ann Richards would be insulted by your comment of having a Democratic president destroy the United States.

Great lady - superb presence.

More importantly, though, my eldest graduated from her namesake school. This school was her last legacy. She helped in the initial planning, framing the vision. She died before the doors actually opened. You see her words in action each and every day there.

Of course, Republicans despise women no matter what they do. Women to a Republican and just breeding livestock, nannies, and housekeepers (male service units) who should never be let out of bed, the maternity ward, or the kitchen.

I remember well the 1994 Texas Gov. race - the GOP used their normal tactics. They called her a lesbian and in a Bible Belt state that is a political kiss of death for a statewide race. "W" won the Gov. race and Texas began it's path to "shitholeville" which has gotten worse every year.

Republicans have long been the women-haters party, wrapped in sanctimony, and disguised as religion.

We should all know better by now.

I feel that way with Pierre Trudeau in Canada. Though I really liked Jean Chretien too. I think PM Mark Carney will do great things. So we are on an upswing here. Our thoughts are with you in America though I think things are looking up for you.

We spent 13 weeks rv'ing in Texas before Abbott went MAGA, and we really enjoyed it.

I just can't in good conscience support a state that treats hispanics and women like Texas does. I will never spend one cent there until Abbott and his sycophants are gone!

Sorry for our good Democrats there, but that's just me.
