"Nearly three in 10 American adults today identify as religiously unaffiliated â a 33% jump since 2013, according to the nonpartisan Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI). That's quicker than almost any major religious shift in modern U.S. history, and it's happening across racial groups."

(7,414 posts)And are already making and influencing laws, etc. But with this unchurching comes pushback against them when we take back the country. They will long for the halcyon days of trump... but we will defeat them, too. I have a feeling religion is just one aspect of our society that will see new changes and rules... in order to ensure we are never again in fear of a theocracy of hate.

(73,259 posts)i suspect this is a big factor. for every preacher who gets caught and makes the news, how many more r there? ppl who suspect or were victims have been silenced in the past. now ppl know it happens A.LOT. they also know what happens to ppl who speak up, so they just quietly walk away.
