But it's only them.

https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/local/2025/12/26/is-december-26-federal-holiday-president-trump-order-christmas-2025/87918567007/ (If you click on it, it'll open--if you click in the wrong place and it takes you to the home page, to get back to the page you wanted instead of the paywall requires clearing cookies or finding a different browser.)

While federal government offices may close their doors the days before and after Christmas this year, locations like banks, post offices and private retailers will largely remain open.

U.S. Postal Service offices will be open for retail transactions Dec. 26 and mail will be delivered on that day.

According to the Federal Reserve, banks will follow the typical schedule of being closed on Christmas Day and open for business Dec. 26.

Such employees would get both (i) their holiday pay, and (ii) pay for the hours they work.

to remember that as well, but there was mail service today. Guess whoever the postmaster is overruled trumps declaration.
