Today seemed to be such a sad and somber day. It sure throws a monkey wrench into the way I paint as well.
Was looking for something humorous to paint. Even though I have Christmas trees up in my house, Scarlett has never done this. She's a pretty good cat. She has her favorite ornament that she takes off every single morning off my bedroom tree, but that's about it.
After waking and reading the worst news ever I thought it was smart to just stay off of the news. I wasted most of my day, just trying to figure out how one man could change so many people's lives with his hate.
I thought about how much longer we will have to persevere. It makes me hate every Republican walking because they do support him.
He had ruined so many families. Including my own and every day he continues to divide us.
I refuse to be part of a soulless society no matter
what.
Even if I couldn't draw or paint today.

(102,812 posts)Scarlett has had enough of something. Perhaps she was picking up on the general mood across the nation.
Great picture, I don't know of many who would paint that picture... but I like it!

This could be a Christmas card, as well. VERY original!
You did good, samplegirl. At one of those moments when we all really needed it.

(43,169 posts)Love this picture. It reminds me of another poster we had here at DU many many years ago. I cant remember his username, but he was in graduate school at Valparaiso University I think.
Anyway, he posted around Christmas time that he was in bed. It was the night before his oral exams for his PhD. What was going on with the Christmas tree, however, kept him from getting a good nights sleep. What was that?
It was the kitties in the living room, knocking off the tree ornaments one by one.
He didnt want to get up because he desperately needed his sleep, but the ornaments dropping kept him awake nonetheless. Little mini-crashes, all night long.

(12,117 posts)It was an artificial tree but she didn't care, she still wanted to climb it. Nobody got mad at her, we just thought it was funny and hoped she wouldn't do it again. I think the whole thing scared her too much to want to do it a second time.

(6,274 posts)This is such a sweet and funny and lovely painting. You have lightened many hearts sharing this, and we all really really needed it. Creating and spreading light - its miraculous, right? Maybe its the cold meds talking here, but I think if theres meaning in our existence, thats it. Its how we manifest whatever we can of god. You are doing it. Thanks.
