167,0000,000 Americans are NOT BETTER THAN THIS.
77,000,000 of them voted for Trump, and one by one, they're crying and saying "I didn't vote for this," even though they did...they were just too ignorant to realize it.
90,000,000 of them just sat on their ass and didn't vote, because they didn't care, or they didn't think their vote mattered.
There no longer IS a unified "WE" in America. There might be among the two groups I named above but I feel NO kinship or allegiance with EITHER of them.
So there are two take-aways here.
1). When someone says "WE are better than this," who the FUCK is "we?" And...
2). Trump's boast on the Access Hollywood tape still stands. Today, he's grabbing the U.S. Military, making them put on their little skirts and dance for his amusement, like Shirley Temple singing "Animal Crackers In My Soup."
It's a FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP. The responsibility of MILITARY LEADERS is to REJECT INAPPROPRIATE ORDERS, even if they come from a sitting president. The response should have been "YOU are NOT a fucking ORGAN GRINDER, and WE are NOT your fucking MONKEYS." But they just reported for duty, and Trump can grab as many of them by the ****y as he likes, because when your a star, they let you get away with it. You can do anything. Even to men and women in uniform whose purpose is to serve our country.

(50,325 posts)know that "we" aren't better than this, but the idea is to get some people to realize that their behavior does not reflect our best ideals. Sadly, I doubt that it gets through to them. They are in their own sad little world.
