Is Israel's attack on Iran a diversion from Netanyahu's political problems at home?

The Gaza war has caused a lot of bad feelings and helped to diminish foreign support. There's still not been an answer for how it was that Hamas got into Israel on Octber 7th, something that should never have happened.

And I keep thinking, we had negotiated an agreement with Iran that placed their entire nuclear development under the surveillance of the United States and the UN, which Trump trashed.

How counterproductive it has been for Israel, as a close US ally, that Trump has friendships with dictators of countries with nuclear weapons who hate Israel.
