From the Kennedy School:

Nonviolent protests are twice as likely to succeed as armed conflicts – and those engaging a threshold of 3.5% of the population have never failed to bring about change.

A single protest that engages 3.5% isn't necessarily a tipping point, but when that many are engaged, and engaged repeatedly and in various ways (not just protesting but pressuring leaders), you are heading toward transformational change... at least that is what analysis of various movements finds.

their pants and decide to help save their necks, our Constitution and democracy? Or enough military brass to refuse orders to mobilize against citizens in order to stifle militarization of our government?

They are deeply entrenched in corruption and mostly agree with Trump.

6. First sign: MAGA Murder Budget Stalls in Senate

If Senate Republicans start being more afraid of the anger of their constituents than they are of the 47 regime, we'll see more defectors. And large numbers on the streets in red district and county strongholds -- and across the nation -- will spark that fear.

If the move for the after-the-fact "legalization" of the criminal closer of USAID stalls in the Senate, that's another sign that Republicans are getting more afraid of their constituents than they are of 47.

And keep in mind, 47's loss of his enforcer Elon and the threat of unlimited funds for primary challenges has already tipped the balance "our way."

When we see viable Pro-Impeachment Republicans mounting primary challenges in Republican strongholds, we will know we are on our way to Redeeming Our National Soul (as long as the commitment is to impeach and remove 47 AND his co-conspirator Vance in 2027).

There are other signs, but those are the big ones that come to mind.

She is absolutely the best at noticing the effect that rallies have. She is on MSNBC, Mondays only, 9:00 pm East Coast time and 6:00 pm Pacific time.

If you have not already signed up to Indivisible, do so. Your local Dem club is also good. They will keep you informed.

Welcome to DU.

I made my NO KINGS sign about 3 weeks ago and followed the link since then. The total number on the "map" stops at 1,000 for some reason. For the HANDS OFF protest on April 5th there were 1,400 protest and 5.2 million attended.

When I added up the actual numbers with my trusty calculator there were 1,700. That WAS 12 days ago!!!!! Obviously that number has increased significantly, especially with all the BS with immigration/deportation. The media did NOT cover the HANDS OFF protests at all!!! Rachel Maddow was one of about 3 in the news media who even made it a story worthy of the national news.

Therefore, I estimate that the protests on June 14th will be at least 2,000 and most likely closer to 2,500 or more. There are 20 in Europe alone. Do the math!!! This is ENORMOUS!!!!!

Watch this.....
