I get that it's literally a piece of cloth, but optics fucking matter!

At the No Kings protests, their ought to be so many Old Glory's waving, that it looks like you are at a Betsy Ross themed amusement park.

Like it or not, that piece of cloth stands for something. and it isn't what the dipshit MAGAts fucking stand for.

I never understood it.

I never understood burning it, or waving the flag of Mexico, Bolivia, Puerto Rico, Canada, or the Union Jack, WHEN WE'RE PROTESTING SOME AMERICAN SHITSHOW!!

It's the fuckstick MAGAts that are denigrating, defiling, degrading, burning, pissing and stomping on all that the flag represents. it's the MAGAts that are wiping their asses on the American flag and the Constitution.

You know what the American Flag represents? It represents YOU!

It symbolizes your rights, your liberty, your freedom, your aspirations, your dreams, your hopes, your ambitions, your desire to protect your children and your family.

That flag is your Birthright.

Whether your immigrant mother crawled across a fucking desert, or escaped a Nazi deathcamp, or fled a Civil War, or was once a slave, or was here since Ben Franklin flew a kite, you were born in a living, breathing DEMOCRACY.

Whether you came out head first, feet first, or ass first, the second your body touched American soil, YOU WERE GIVEN A GREAT GIFT.

That "piece of cloth" IS YOURS!! Fly it! Wave it! Respect it as if you held it in your chubby little fingers when you traversed the birth canal, because you did!

America is surely not God Damned perfect, but it's founding documents provide a path for working toward perfection.

I know that we don’t "worship" shit like the flag, but this isn't about a piece of cloth...and maybe you think it symbolizes oppression, or greed, or jingoism, or power and might, but if you think that, then you've allowed the MAGAt asshats to define what the flag represents.

On this weekend, on this Flag Day, at this existential threatening time...DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY WITH IT

1. As long as Old Glory is held highest, I do not care what flag anyone else carries. I love the Bill of Rights even more.

4. Yes, RECLAIM THE FLAG has been the theme

for protestors for the past 4 days and that is when I got my flag and made it into a cape so my arms are free to carry my sign.

8. I know this and I AM wearing it anyway.

"Rules" are being broken right and left so I do not give a fuck. I am wearing my flag. I could also wear it upside down as a distress signal. I am done with "respecting rules". The glass has been broken as far as I am concerned.

MY birthday is July 3rd and I was born in Philadelphia and I always said I am a "yankee doodle" (close enough to the 4th). I walked through Indep. Hall to work every day. I am a patriot and I have been a Dem activist since I was 17 years old in 1979. I have voted in EVERY SINGLE ELECTION since then (local, state and federal), even when out of the country!!! I AM PROUD and I want to show my stars and stripes. If I wear it as a cape while carrying a protest sign and wearing a "I HATE FOX NEWS" t-shirt then I will be a proud American.

Rules are being broken by Dems right now for a damn, good reason.
