I no longer post much here because I can't find words to

Describe my feelings of disgust toward so much since the November election.

There are no words, really, to capture the horror of what is happening - and being allowed to happen.

The tRump mobsters planned this even before 6/1/21..... 6/1/21 was their test mode for today's immigration assault... using National Guard, but.... sending in his pardoned insurrectionist to create protesting chaos....blame it on the protesters....

They gained power over all communication/ media essentially....also congress....judges of some degree...

This is sooooo big and we are or at least I am feeling like a fool...

Twice. I protested when Putin put in Trump the first time. There were crowds but not crowds this big.

If I wasn't recovering from COVID, I would be protesting this Saturday. Stay strong. This is NOT a civil war we are fighting. It is a Nazi Putin takeover of our federal government. We are fighting off a foreign power.

Cloudy, with a chance of Kanamit spacecraft.

Oh, and little slices of life that I find, like the giant flag that now lies tattered on the ground.

it is discovering--at the age of 72--that about half of the people living in the United States don't believe in honesty, fairness, compassion or truth and that they see Democracy as a hindrance to their financial, religious and philosophical goals and needs..

Throughout my 7 decades I had always believed that none of us were perfect but that "most people" were basically good. I was so wrong. More than 70 million Americans have no idea what America is all about. Not only do they not understand our form of government or the basic principles that made us the greatest country on earth, they are fanatically inspired to destroy all the philosophies, processes and edicts that we and our forefathers have held above reproach for two and a half centuries.

Trump and his moronic followers behave as if they've never heard of the United States of America.

Donate to a Lib cause - No Kings protest, your local protest march. Volunteer your services to those who reject Team trDUMP. The ACLU is always in need of funding to combat djt.

We need to be in this for the long haul. We are only into the fifth month of a trDUMP four year term. They hope we burnout and zone out - then once they drain us of our physical and emotional resources it becomes clear sailing to enact the Heritage Foundation's - Project 2025 in hyper drive. The last vestiges of American Democracy will be crushed and stomped out. Then a Christo-Fascist Theocracy becomes the ruling ideology and political brand of governance.

We can not give in,... we can not give up.

The week after the election was a death spiral into disbelief and depression. We have always been newshounds, but it is getting more and more difficult to stay informed. If I stay on top of the news, it's either going to be unrelenting anger and disbelief, or day drinking. This is a horrible episode in our nation's history.

doing - and also the harm the AI companies are doing, because the AI bros are NOT very interested in democracy and individual rights. They and their AI tools are a huge threat in addition to the threat Trump poses.

But it can be so exhausting to uncover new horrors every day.

It's always a relief to find a bit of good news, or more reasons to ridicule the thugocracy and the tech lords.

And I love seeing artists speaking out against both the Trump regime and AI.

And by that I mean doing whatever maintains your peace of mind and spirit. That allows you to say and do the things that strengthen and preserve what you care about within your circle of influence.

Not publicly voicing your distress is okay. But do find some kind of release. Any small thing that brings a smile to your face. Take the time to care for yourself and you will naturally spread a kind energy that others will be drawn to.

so you can see it often. My little home office has a wall of the art of beautiful women. I am reminded of the beauty and strength those images hold for me, at a time when women are being threatened constantly.

Or start to do it yourself! Paint, sculpt, photograph, design and make something, A dancer, a quilt, a dress. Mold clay into a dancer like Degas.

Go take your broken heart and turn it into art!

It was unbelievable that he was elected the first time, and I watched everything for four years, and more, of course, which was exhausting and depressing.
I thought that his crimes would stop him from running again and would stop people from voting for him if he did.
Now I get my news here on DU and avoid the news channels as much as possible.
I don't know what I can say that hasn't already been said.
I'm glad to be among all of you here; it gives me hope right now when it's so hard to see the years ahead as anything but devastating, while I try to stay positive every day, one day at a time.
