We need an uprising of journalists against this foul cowardly buckling. If someone doesnt hire him and news people dont circle their wagons democracy will simply die.

Of course, I'm assuming he's had plenty of time to sock money away and that's he not hurting for it. That's a big assumption to make, but I feel fairly confident when it comes to corporate contracts.

(429 posts)The Meidas Touch Network is more than the three Meiselas brothers. Many contributors work with/for them. Katie Phang, Ron Filipkowski, Harry Litman and Brian Karem are names you may recognize. The main YouTube channel has 4.9 million subscribers.
Contributors work across multiple platforms. Certainly, The Meidas Touch Network could be a big part of Moran's future, and he would not be censored. Where can this be found elsewhere?

But it seems awfully shabby, and pathetic, to me - that one feels the need to go to these lengths to want and then to assert power.

One man told the truth and he wasnt given a script from the White House, he paid a price other high paid stenographers will not speak up because they will not be willing to lose their jobs. Lets stop pretending there is honor , truth, giving a damn about this country and realize we must fight with all the tools available to us because they are out to destroy us.

(61,916 posts)The corporate media's pinnacle isn't human rights, democracy or the public good, (if it were we would be much further down the road to a sustainable green society, and Medicare for All would be a given) so much as corporate, oligarchic or authoritarian domination of human society.
The corporate media's fundamental structures are authoritarian by their very design combined with their prime funding directive of selling anything; good, ill or catastrophic to make money for their corporate owners and major investors ultimately sides them with the wealthiest, usually greediest and most powerful over the public good regardless of perceived morality or immorality.

(11,156 posts)At the newspaper I worked for, we weren't allowed to post our political opinions on social media.
But here's the rub ... his Twitter account has a post pinned in which he criticizes Trump. It's from 2024. Why didn't ABC take action then?
Link to tweet
Personally, I never liked the policy that we couldn't post our opinions. But I got it. We were journalists. So is he. The real question is why did ABC wait until now to take action? Oh, the fact that Moran's contract was about to expire is a good excuse. But if it hadn't been about to expire, what would they have done? I really can't answer that.

(12,912 posts)We just learned ABC News ended your decades-long tenure over a single post they deemed a clear violation of their policies because the Trump regime asked them to take action against you. Let us be clear: what they have done is appallingand its just the latest example of corporate media capitulating to the whims of a wannabe autocrat. Your comments were proof that you believe in telling the truth without fear or favor. Thats exactly the kind of journalist we stand with.
At the MeidasTouch Network, we stand by and amplify voices like yours.
Just look at what independent media can build. When Katie Phang joined our network, she built a vibrant, fearless platform that now reaches hundreds of thousands. Her YouTube channel has grown faster than any corporate news outlets. As of today, our network is reaching 22 million people every 48 hoursnot with watered-down talking points, but with bold, unapologetic truth.
