David Huerta, president of Service Employees International Union California, was released from custody after Federal authorities on Monday charged him in a criminal complaint with conspiracy to impede an officer in connection with his alleged actions during an immigration enforcement raid last week.
Huerta, 58, has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown Los Angeles since Friday.

(5,243 posts)Waste of time even talking or communicating with them. Nazi Party members as far as I'm concerned.

(105,140 posts)Some parts of it, you might as well be in Alabama or Arkansas. Huntington Beach is worse than Miami - Dade County for being ultra MAGA.
Be safe

(2,238 posts)Were all indoctrinated by their late father to believe that Democrats take your money and give it to "black people". He had a 6th grade education.
I'm through with them, they're in a cult in their upstate NY town with their friends.

(5,243 posts)Our dad worked 95% of his career in the military as a doctor. Every shirt we had was paid for by the US govt. Makes me sick how they lived in privilege and now lash out like some deep-south Bourbon Democrats. We always lived in nice houses and went to well-funded public schools. Sickening. Best of luck with your family

(16,681 posts)My Dad was a local truck driver -- Teamsters Union. My Mom was a stay-at-home "child development specialist" as she used to say. They raised nine kids (one passed in 2019) on one income and maybe we were, but we were economically okay and never never felt poor. We had a big house that my parents built on an acre of land in a farm community 35 minutes out of Boston back then, always a big old station wagon (for family use) and a sedan my Dad used for getting to work mostly. We had good health and even dental insurance. Most of us went to college. ... Aside: this is a big part of why I'm an all in progressive on the economic front -- we had a good and economically secure life as a large (Catholic) working class family -- albeit a white family. There was plenty of racism in and around Boston.
As a country, we've lost our way economically and now we are dealing with this fascism to boot! How my 3 trumper siblings can't see that is mind boggling. On the other hand, they are all members of the evangelical cult. F'ing "religion".

(5,243 posts)My dad was assigned to Massachusetts Hospital in 1969. I was a big Bosox and Yaz fan. I kind of threw in the towel in 1986. Poor Bill Buckner. Still, it was so nice seeing them win those recent 4 WS titles! Cheers

(2,669 posts)up on the status. He's just out on bond (50K). He's still charged with (18USC.372) Conspiracy to Impede an Officer.
So this unfortunately isn't over for him, he's got a long row left to hoe. He was interfering with federal agents so this could be big trouble for him.
