But more of this, please. Much more!

(14,101 posts)They should have never voted for him especially since many of them knew better. If they are expecting a welcoming party, they are in for a surprise.

(5,615 posts)And we need to welcome them. We need everyone of them to speak up and acknowledge
what they have done. If they are contrite and regrettable, this is not a time for recriminations;
this is time for action. Remember the more we welcome them, the more likely others
will speak out and join with us.
In this existential crisis, it is imperative that there aer more of us than MAGAS.
I am grateful for every one of them who sees the light and crosses over to join us.

But people saw and heard only the discrimination and lies.

(1,534 posts)The people we need are the ones who stayed home, or voted third party/no choice. The MAGAs will never change. They want Trump out, but will happily support the true people behind all this, Project 2025. A kindler, gentler dictatorship is A-OK with them! As long as the stupid liberals get what's comin' to them, it's all good.
Some people here are far too forgiving to people who stood by and listened to Trump's insane rants and went out and voted for exactly what he said he would do. Farmers? Go fuck yourself. I'm sure they thought the liberals would be put into labor camps by now and forced to pick those crops!

(37,722 posts)I have more problem with the welcoming with open arms of people who were media people, political advisors, politicians, those spent their careers building the road to the mess we're in now.
I know plenty of people on our side were all "the enemy of our enemy is our friend" about these people, because we needed every vote in the election, but they've proven (repeatedly, actually) that they don't move the needle at all, and it sabotages us to be seen being chummy with these people. (and plenty of them haven't really changed and are waiting for us to do all the dirty work so they can shiv us in the kidneys and go back to the Republican "normality" of 2005.)

(61 posts)I'm glad she realizes her mistake. But I still want to know what the hell she and others were thinking when they voted for Trump / Stein / didn't bother to vote. Trump told us what he was going to do. Harris warned us what he was going to do. She and her mom will suffer the consequenses. Unfortunately we all are going to suffer.
