Now I see a police car burning

Last edited Sun Jun 8, 2025, 09:07 PM - Edit history (1)

So we've reached World Series championship celebration level.

EDIT TO ADD: I see replies below that it was a WAYMO. I saw white cars covered in markings.

It doesn't change my point that we've seen plenty of other street events turn into something similar without being amped up into "civilizational danger."

formerly known as the Google self-driving car project. Waymo One, their fully autonomous ride-hailing service, utilizes these cars to offer rides to the public. These cars are equipped with advanced sensors and computer systems that allow them to navigate roads without human intervention.

Waymo is an autonomous vehicle that is basically a driverless Uber.

Sure let's light lithium-ion batteries on fire. And then they're standing around them.

First, the smoke is extremely toxic. Second, they can explode. (As I wrote this reply, one of them exploded.)

I suspect these are not the brightest folks on the street at the moment.

There would have to be an awful lot of Proud Boys wandering around. And the people surrounding this aren't exactly lifting a finger or saying anything to discourage it.

Better to accept the obvious. Some people go to protests and decide they're going to have a good, destructive time.

What's kind of amusing to me is, these crowds are like half protesters, half people with cameras who came to watch the protesters.

That everyone I like is a perfect angelic being blessing us here on earth and everyone I dislike is in warrant of exorcism.

I've been around protests before. I know how they go. Some people show up to purposefully start shit.

I'm not saying agitators don't exist - of course they do.

But what I'm seeing with my own eyes and hearing with my own ears is adequate to show we've reached the "Dipshits have shown up" portion of the program.

But I'm not going to dismiss the strong possibility that those known to stir shit, stirred shit.

I too have protested - thankfully, no 'dipshits' when I did so.

There were a lot of people vandalizing the cars and setting them on fire. It wasn't one guy milling around.

And they were filming themselves do it (which is just amazing).

The car may have yelled, but it didn't deserve to be neutralized.

happening now.

Here we go again. Just like in 2020 right-wingers will be posting old videos or videos from other countries claiming it was today in the US. All for clicks and to fan the flames of division and hatred. It’s part of their standard playbook.

It’s also 5 years ago dumbass.

They just cut away from the burning vehicles. But if you rewind to about 15-20 mins ago they stayed with it for about an hour.
