The death of empathy in the US Government:

The Death of Empathy in American Governance

And what did Ernst say? Did she pause? Did she acknowledge the anguish, the fear in that person’s voice? Did she show even a flicker of the kind of compassion we once expected from our elected officials?

No.

She laughed. Then smirked. And replied, “People are not—well, we all are going to die. For heaven’s sakes, folks.”

That’s right. Medicaid cuts that could cost lives—whether due to lack of insulin, cancer treatment, nursing home support—were waved off as a cosmic inevitability. Death is certain, so who cares if we accelerate it with brutal policy?

This wasn’t a slip. It wasn’t an “out of context” quote, as her communications team might spin. No, it was emblematic of a deeply disturbing trend in our politics: the normalization of indifference.

Get a bunch of dark triads in the government you get these empathyless trashy rich parasites who like for other people to suffer, oh but never themselves.

In social Darwinism they always put themselves at the top

When in reality they destroy survival for millions for giggles and shits.

In social Darwinist bullshit had any decent survival orientation people like her would be a bottom dweller along with tapeworms and fleas left to die after the host disposes of them.

authoritarianism is basically a deficiency of empathy. I really think that the root of the problem in the US is just that, a lack of empathy.
I don't think that it is a new situation at all. I think that our problem with these Sodomites is much like the Biblical tale.
Ezekiel 16:49
Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy.

What's happening now goes way beyond lack of empathy.
