I agree that background checks are important. I’m assuming that being here from Egypt that he went through some kind of vetting before overstaying his Visa? What happened after 2023 when his visa ran out? I only see in articles that he was in the country illegally since 2023. There needs to be a balance on immigration that also vets who is here. Locally in my area an undocumented woman from Venezuela ran down and killed a young woman with a jet ski and then went on the run. This is all ammunition against immigration versus having balanced immigration with proper vetting. Immigration was a major point in the last election and we need to carefully evaluate the arguments during these events.
